Details on Champ Car Video Game

Friday, 02 July 2004

Some details have been linked on the upcoming Champ Car video game. It
will be on store shelves in early 2005, it started devolopment in
early 2003. It will put all other racing games to shame. It appears to
feature both arcade and hard-core simulation modes. Futhermore it will
be released on the PC, XBOX, and Playstation 2. More details to follow
as they become available.

Too bad there won't be such a sport in 2005.....lol

Seriously though... I don't think it will be any good since it's going to be
on XBOX and PS2. That alone will mean it will be an arcade racer.

GTR and Richard Burns Rally are coming on Xbox and I don't think anyone
could call them arcade racers - the PC versions are going to be developed
with a different goal in mind however...It might also be like the Nascar
Thunder & F1 Challenge scenarios - totally different developers for the
console versions.  In any case, a console version of a game does not
automatically mean there will be a half-assed PC sim these days.

I don't understand why you say that (Being an arcade racer).  Several games
on XBOX and PS2 are excellent sims and are now becoming networkable as well.

I see it being *** PC ONLY if it isn't developed from the console
version.  I havent seen a console port yet that does the PC justice.
