I've been reviewing the tape of Sunday's Homestead race and lamenting the
fact that there simply is not a decent CART simulator.

I have been driving GP2 for a couple of seasons now, and ICR2 when I want
to get to know a CART track (I try to watch all the races and get out to at
least two or three per year).  I'm looking forward to the U.S. release of
F1RS.

After reading about the failures of CPR, I have been avoiding it, but there
doesn't seem to be much of an alternative.  I don't want to get involved
with that game because of what I have heard about the A.I., the lack of Pit
strategy,  AND ESPECIALLY the lack of yellow flags.  ICR is nice for what
it was, but you can't update the tracks.

One point I would like to make to any sim writers who might be lurking out
there is that many races are won and lost on pit strategy, and yellow flags
are crucial to good pit strategy.

The point?

Lets hear from anyone who is getting a satisfactory CART simulation
experience.  I would dearly love to lead the "real life" racing season by a
week or two, racing the simulated tracks.  I love the interplay of ovals
and road/street courses, and CART is the only series in the world which
seems to have a decent balance of both.

Well, to be honest, I deleted CPR after trying out every track: Michigan is
one of the widest on the track but If you switch lanes, be careful you might
be in the infield, unless you want to such as pitting and that is the most
difficult thing to do.
Most infields are too close to the racing surface, etc.
Never could get my T2 to work as well as in other sims, including the arcade
game, MotoRacer. Yet, people still love CPR and mine is not the only opinion
but after racing the papy sims since indy 500, the simulation, I was
disappointed in CPR. I think its horrible compared to GP2 or Indycar2. Thank
goodness for the new
N2->ICR2 track converters: the first "new" life brought to ICR2 since the
Rendition version was released.

Revving up my whiny,pointy car,

Phillip

Well Allen there is a little help.   The guys at the USPITS have a track
converter that does the impossible.  Converts Nascar2 tracks for use with
ICR2.  If you have the BGN expansion track pack for N2, you should be able to
convert Fontanna and Gateway for use with ICR2.   I'm not sure if the Homestead
track is on there, but even if it is...it's probably that 4 corner Indy clone
as opposed to the current variation which is a 1.5 mile oval.  anyone else??

Sorry if this has already been posted, but where would I find USPITS?

Thanks
