GPL and OpenGL?

Well, bought a Geforce2 and am now relegated to playing GPL in OpenGL
mode, which works fine except when I set the res above 640x480 it
doesn't stretch with the screen and is instead running in a box in the
top left corner. Anyone know of a fix, besides getting a V2. BTW,
tried FSAA on the Geforce2 in GPL and it just makes the details blurry
so don't expect it to look much better on the V5 in FSAA. High res is
what does GPL justice and not FSAA.

I heard from a friend of mine that even the original Geforce has
problems with GPL in higher resolutions with the new drivers. Older
drivers work well, he says. I'd love to hear about a fix, though, so I
can forward it to him.

GPL and OpenGL?

Hello,

I had the same problem with GPL using the CL 5.22 drivers and got my
game to work in any resolution by extracting the "Nvopengl.dll" file from
the CL 3.68 or earlier drivers (it will work with reference drivers as well)
and putting it in the main GPL folder.  GPL will use the 3.68 OpenGL driver
and everything else will run with your currently installed drivers.  Hope
this helps.

GPL and OpenGL?

There really should be an FAQ. 1. I used to run gpl on geforce at
1280x1024 and it rocked.  Install the latest drivers per standard
operating procedure THEN place the openGL.dll from the 3.68 drivers in
the GPL directory. This way, you get the advantages of the latest
drivers for all your games except GPL, which will use the 3.68s.
2. I've switched to a v5 and I think the fsaa looks great.  Image
quality on opengl is a bit richer but I don't think I could ever go
back. Using some tweaks I'm running 8x6x4aa and it looks great and the
lowest i've seen it was 33.x fps and i think that was due to sunspots.
Ideally a GPL freak should wait for the v5-6k. You could probably run
4x fsaa at 1280x1024 (might be a bit optimistic but Yikes!!! would
that look good).

GPL and OpenGL?

Hi all,

I put the 3.68 nvopengl.dll driver in my gpl directory but it still
won't give me full screen in anything other than 640x480.  Is there
something I am doing wrong or should try?  I have a elsa gladiac
geforce 2

Thanks!

P.S. Just went to Nvidia's web site and only drivers available are
5.22. Any idea where I can find the older drivers?

See Christian's below post for fix. Don't know where to get the older
drivers from though.

OK, found the older drivers at the below url. Tell you friend to get
the 3.68 drivers and try out the fix for GPL. I'll post here if it
works.

OK, just tested out the fix that Chrisitian posted and it works
perfectly. Yippee! Running at 1024x768 and never below 36 fps with
full field. So tell your friend to get the 3.68 drivers from the url I
posted and put the nvOpengl.dll in the GPL directory. In core.ini you
have to set "MirrorsEvery = 2" or else you get flahing mirrors with it
set at 1. Have also found that if I have sidebanding enabled on my
Geforce2 then GPL locks up just before entering the 3D part. So tell
him to make sure sidebanding is disabled before playing GPL. Nvidia's
drivers don't have sidebanding enabled yet, I believe. But, I'm using
Creative's drivers which allow you to set that option on or off.

I cant see the url, you please post it again? I have a TNT2 and the same
problem you described (left upper corner only view) with the latest
detonator drivers.

Thanks,
