GPL OpenGL/RivaTNT Beta Driver Available

by Matt Sentel » Sat, 24 Oct 1998 04:00:00

We have just made available a BETA (say it three times) OpenGL driver for
Grand Prix Legends which has been tested on STB Velocity 4400 cards.  It
will hopefully work on other TNT-based cards but we have yet to test it with
any of them.

We wanted to go ahead and make a beta version of this driver available as
soon as we could, but please note that it is UNSUPPORTED at this time.  We
make no guarantees as to whether it will work at all and cannot provide
technical support.  There are also some known issues, particularly with
video card drivers.  Use at your own risk and read the included readmegl.txt
file carefully.

To download the driver, go to www.papy.com.

Enjoy,

Glad to see that Papy is offering support for... errr... providing
drivers for OpenGL so more cards can be used.

The more the merrier, I say!

Cheers,
Gian Vitzthum.

Seems you have to use an FTP app to access the files.. browser downloads
don't seem to work.

I got the demo already...

Well done, Papy! This is a polished demo to be proud of!

Halleluia! Papy, I don't recall you ever responding so fast to user
feedback. God, that is great. Muchisimas gracias

And BTW, now that I have had a chance to really see this sim I
bought... it is astounding.

ya's made my day.

Papy, you are the best. Don't worry, I know they are beta. Since you
are clearly trying, I hope we all try to give useful (and not just the
usual NG vitriol) feedback on the new drivers.

Hi Matt!

to an open gfx language standard. Now how far away on the horizon
is an unsupported Linux version using the Mesa library, I wonder?

Thanks in advance for any info,

Uwe
