Cannot install/run GPL on XP

by Matthi » Mon, 22 Dec 2003 20:35:40

Hi there,

I've tried to install my (original) copy of GPL on my XP Pro for
several times but I cannot even start it. The next thing I tried was
to run it in compatibility mode for Win95/98SE but without success. I
know that GPL came out when NT 4.0 was up to date and I, therefore,
guess that it has problems with 2k/XP. Is there a patch (or something
like that) out there to get my GPL working with XP?

Thank you for any support and a Mery Christmas!
Matthias

Hey.

Turn "index" on for your hd, then it will work.

No need to go this far, just allow indexing on the gpl folder (folder
properties, advanced). You don't need to start the indexing service
either.

gpl doesn't need to be run in compatability mode, but it does have a
problem with NTFS formatted drives, which this fixes.
