S3 Virge and GP2

S3 Virge and GP2

Hi all,

I'm having problems with my new PC. It's a Digital, with a Pentium
166MMX, and has a S3 Virge/GX video card. One of the first things I
tried was, ofcourse, GP2. But,...it didn't work. At the point that the
game switches to hi-res video mode on startup, e.g. the welcome
screen, my screen goes black! I booted to DOS, so no win95 problem I
think, though I have win95B installed, with FAT32 enabled.

Anyone have a clue, or better, a solution to this problem ?

Thanks for any feedback

Yeah, its a ***.......

Try  starting GP2 with this startup command.......   GP2  nointro

That should do it!

Next time I see Geoff, I will ask him why it does that!

OSR2 (win95 b)doesnt have any fat32 support. Only NT4, and mephis
(windows97). OSR2 wont install with FAT32, i have tried.

I don't know how to put it nicely...you are just wrong.  OSR2 most
definitely supports FAT32.  Just run OSR2's FDISK and hit Y for "large
disk support."  Make your big partitions and format the drive and
viola - FAT32!

Erm, are you sure about that? I understood that *all* the new win95B
(OSR2) systems are fat32 compatible?
