Some things never change (GPL/VROC)

I fired up VROC and ran a race at Monza today after a year and a half
away from the sim.  Of 16 cars that started, six were "the green car",
four were the red car, and a mix of the rest (BRM was conspicuous by
it's absence).

Starting grid wreck, wrecks through first four turns, and topped off by
12 of the cars retiring 6 laps before the end of the 11-lap race.  I
started 11th and finished 4th.

Nobody knows how to start, everybody appears to be surprised when they
get to the 1st turn on lap 1 and there's still cars near them (at which
point they lapse into an epileptic seizure and drive into the nearest of
the other cars), and if it doens't look like they're gonna win, they
quit.  And this was an intermediate/short race!

Some things never change...

Yep in that respect you would expect the maturity of the sim to have
rubbed off on the drivers.

Unfortunately this seems representative of open server access of any
form of on-line ***. Be it team killers or cheaters in FPS games or
wreckers in car racing sims. Most of the time the wreckers aren't as
deliberate as the cheaters - it just turns out that way.

Personally I find N2002 online a bit akin to the first GPL lap just
repeated in terms of potential for a group get together.

Of course you can get get lucky and chance on a good group via the open
servers.

Maybe I'll see ya later :-)

Aren't you just the greatest thing since sliced bread. Maybe they were aware that a GOD
was in their midst and couldn't control themselves.
Then again, maybe they were just on there for a bit of a laugh. Stranger things have
happened.

It was aimed at the lowest form of wit. If you think you fit the bill, sorry.

I enjoy good sarcasm, aimed at me or others, yours don't fit the bill,
if you're going to be a ***, at least do it with a touch of class, put
some effort into it

What mark ?

I said I enjoy sarcasm, why would a remark about the lowest form of wit
get to me, it's not a very original comment you know

You're acting like a *** towards John, which is of course entirely up
to you, but since the chances are that he's already kill filed you,
could you at least put some effort into it so that the rest of us could
enjoy the show a little, right now it's just tedious and a total waste
since he's not seeing your posts and those of us who do aren't going to
change our opinion of John, at least not based on the quality of your
current posts

Are you still waiting for the waaaaaaaambulance to show up?  The problem is that open server Monza
in GPL is analogous to Daytona/Talladega open server races in the Nascar sims.  And they both
collect some of th worst drivers in both sims...you should have remembered that part...

That's your view and you're entitled to it. Who are the other weirdo's your keeping an eye
