setting this ATI cards up, anyone got any suggestions.

I also read a speed comparison on
http://www.radeonthetop.com/articles.php?id=40 where in most games the speed
advantage for the 9700 over the 4600 was a lot smaller than what the first
tests made it look like, and in Serious Sam (and I think under certain
conditions in Castle Wolftenstein) the 9700 was even slower than the 4600,
and isn't SeriousSam often used for OpenGL benchmarks? Just a thought. I
hope for you this isn't it.
Good luck!

Thanks for the input.
Guess I'll wait on NVIDA's next big dog.

Some ideas :
Try OpenGL
turn off 'wait for vertical sync'
setup you're AGP slot to 4X
AGP size to 64
Power cable plugged into card from disk drive connector ?
Fast write enabled in bios
Make sure you have no PCI card plugged into first slot
Next to AGP card. Heat and shared interrupt problems.
Check the ATI site.
Post in the ATI news group.
I remember seeing somewhere there are issues with certain
motherboards using via 266a chipsets. Although that's I'm
running on an AsusA7V266 with a 2100+xp processor.
Good luck,

Heehee, I wouldn't be surprised if nvidia sabotaged their drivers to
sink any subsequently installed ATI card. These other people may not have
completely uninstalled the old drivers.
