I just tried to fire up my copy of GPL after taking a couple months
off and get a blue screen of death, XP pro, ATI 9700 pro, Cat 3.4

I had played GPL on the ATI previously I think at Cat 3.0. Anybody
else playing GPL successfully with the 3.4 drivers ?

I'm having the same problems.  Both the OGL and the DirectX DLL's blue
screen and the software rendering dll doesn't work.  Odd.

Darn :( I give up.

I just did a complete reinstall of GPL and get the same thing. Oh Well
since N2003 runs just peachy I guess I'll just stick to the converted tracks
run with a stockcar for now.

What type of sound card and motherboard are you using?  We're both
having the same issues, maybe we have similar hardware (apart from the
video card).  I was about to attempt a reinstall but that appears out.

This is odd.  One thing, did you turn down sound acceleration to one above
minimum in the control panel?  Also you might try putting the video
acceleration slider one notch down also.  Also you must use D3D with ati
cards, not the OGL.  Try these, let us know.

I have a Santa Cruz.  Are you also using the latest drivers for the
Santa Cruz?  Mine are dated 5/14/2003, version 5.12.1.4186.  Maybe this
is a sound issue.

You might be on to something here. I have the Santa Cruz with the beta
drivers as well.  Guess thats why they call them betas.

The rest of my system is a AMD 2100xp on a Leadtek Nforce2 motherboard.
Maybe we should hit Larry up to see if he has problems. I know he has the SC
and I'm pretty sure he at least tried the beta drivers.

Problem solved,

I rolled the Santa Cruz drivers back to the originals, GPL works
fine now. I'll send mail to Santa Cruz to let them know of the issue

TB has released newer drivers (4187).  I've installed but won't be able
to try out GPL until I get home.  If I could play GPL over VNC then I'd
never get anything done at work.

These drivers seem to work for me!
