rec.autos.simulators

I've been running NR2002 since the day it came out.  Because I had many
tweaks to the program, I decided to uninstall and reinstall it to play it
"from-the-box".  Anyway, I set it up the same way I always have, same video
settings, etc., however now it freezes at the Papyrus Racing Games screen,
right after the intro video.

Can anyone suggest a way to fix this - I'm pretty sure it's neither hardware
nor drivers, since neither changed between playing the game and reinstalling
it.

Do you have power options shut off?? Screen savers?? What video card
are you running ?? By power options I mean the power saving options
like shutting down your hard drive after so many minutes, etc. Also
does your case have good cooling ?? try taking one of the doors off
your case and see if helps. Sometimes memory can be the culprit

Do you have any mods/add-ons loaded for pace cars, gauges, dashes?  I found
one set before that seemed to cause random lockups.  Removed them and all
was fine.
