NFS-SE perspective change in spins

by Hai Ph » Tue, 16 Dec 1997 04:00:00

I finally gave in and bought myself a CH Racing Systems wheel last week,
which came with NFS-SE. The game rocks! However, there's one little
'feature' which drives me nuts. Everytime I start to spin out, the
perspective would suddenly change to the overhead-cam and completely
ruin my rhythm. This is fine if I'm actually about to crash, but quite
often I've induced some tail spin on purpose to get around a corner
faster. Normally, it's not too bad on the normal pavement, but it makes
rally mode almost undrivable. :(

I was really looking forward to playing the game in rally mode, but this
makes me so *sed off and I really wanna flame somebody for it... :-)

Anyway, does any one know if it's at all possible to turn this little
misfeature of? (Even if it involves a hex editor...)

Thanks.

This is a well documented gripe with NFS and NFS/SE ... NFS2/SE allows
complete in-car crashed.  There is no way to get around it w/the version
that you have.

And you are right, the game rocks.

That's how the game is.  It can't be changed.  NFS2, however, allowed for
complete in car views.  But they also ruined the entire playability of the
game at the same time.  Stick to the original NFS.
