Papy have had N2002 out the door now for quite awhile, and come up with a
coupla patches... where are we going to hear what exactly they aim to be
working on now? Surely work must have started on something even if they
arn't too near a press release type situation.

What is the something?! go aun... giz us a cloo :-)

They have already stated that they are working on Nascar Racing 2003.  They
had stuff about that at E3.

How about a patch to turn OFF that damn "ideal racing line" during
multiplayer events (you know, like the one where an admin can force the
***pit view).  It might just turn some of those video game players into
real sim racers.

Sorry, but Papyrus has *not* stated they were working on this.  Nor does
Sierra.  It's false.

But...It does sound good doesn't it! After watching those in-car shots from
the CART race today all I could think about was Papyrus making a new
CART/INDY program with tracks I really enjoyed driving. Oh well. (Kind of
sad when ya think about it).

IT's f**king tragic that Papy dont use their SUPERB combo of netcode,
physics and graphics from N2k2 and do something usefull with it

What they ARE doing with it - is N2k3

CART definately has the best tracks, to be honest in indycar 2 i loved
flying around michigan, but Laguna sega, portland, toronto, and all the
others would be ***ic with papy's latest physics. let us pray

I was unaware of this. If Papy are now stuck doing N(Year(Now)+1) because
that is what brings in the moolay, then surely they could employee a few
more people, to take the previous version of their engine, and convert it to
a series such as open-wheel (insert here which formulae).

I was always sure that I read Papy were developing an engine purely so
"values could be plugged in" and wallah, any form of racing could be quickly
created. i guess it didnt end up quite that versatile. i mean, if by the
time N2003 comes along, or just before, papy release a Cart sim based on
N2002 core engine, that would instantly become the best selling Cart/open
wheel sim even tho technolgy wise it were just about to be superceded in
N2003. heck I mean some people still enjoy ICR2, had an ICR3 come out after
N3... loads more would still be playing ICR3?

get me driftin' ? c'mon papy, if it aint cost effective or whatever, just be
nice to know why and what your plans are of late.

cheers.

Sorry about that typo.  With you having such an obviously Nordic name, Goy
Larsen,  I of course intended to type "from Up Over".

I second that! Can you imagine what those tracks would look like now with
updated graphics? God, I have to quit thinking about it. What a bummer.
