Why do I need to have this driver installed for a USB TM Pro 2 wheel to
work.  Is the wheel still working off the SB's drivers?

It's a bug. I tried the TM Pro 1, and Pro 2 USB wheels and they never
worked. I always got the "gamport drivers" error message. Talked to TM tech
support for 2 hours and never solved it.....

Hmm ... I was under the impression that DirectInput is the one that needs
the gameport driver, and since all(?) of the USB controllers use DirectInput
they need the gameport driver as well :)
