Can anyone tell me what kind of performance hit (IndyCar 2, NASCAR, GP 2) I
will get if I upgrade to a 3D card. My current system is a Pentium 60 with
a 1 MB Cirrus Logic video card. Thanks.

I have been building systems for about 10 years, about 200 a year and All
the things that I've seen on the new 3d cards (Generic ones like the
stealth 2001 3D and Mystique) are that if the game is written for it, great
theres an improvement, and if not, nothing happens.   People seem to think
that a 3d card does wonders for all games and thats just not true.  I did a
comparison on a Stealth 3d and a Stealth 2000 about a week ago on a
6x86-166 and had NO change on indycar II or quake.  Those were the only two
games I loaded cause I just don't have all day to mess around but the
advantage I see to those cards as compared to some of these other "High
Octane" 3d cards is that the windows performance on the stealth or matrox
.. will not be degraded the way that a reactor or similar card will.

If anyone asks me,  the best all around video card on the planet is still
the Matrox MGA Millennium.
If You change color depth and res in windows a lot then get a stealth 3000
3d.  Their driver handles that the best.
