GPL is not arcade in my opinion.

Although it might be since my girlfriend did a 14:xx.xx at the
Ring and said "Thats not too bad is it? Its only about 5
minutes slower than you."

GPL certainly is arcade! After only one year of practice, I did manage a
FULL lap at Monza without crashing once! And the lap was fast too: 1.58.29.
:-)
If that's not a proof of the deep arcadish nature of this game, nothing will
be.

You're right, this sim is bad, there's no way cars could spin that
easily, if it was really so in the 60's noone would ever finish a Grand
Prix! The spins are canned, because, let's face it, you are indeed
sitting in not much more than a can in this sim!

And no way can suspension move that much, everyone knows that ANY racing
car must have very stiff suspension, and also oversized tyres, large
exhausts, a nose down attitude and bulging bodywork with flames painted
on the sides!

The way you have to repeatedly press keys on the gamepad to go through a
corner is also terrible. How am I supposed to overtake all those guys
with those funny sounding names (Brabham, Bandini, Surtees - sounds like
a bad gangster movie, who came up with these?) with such bad controls?

There is just a little man waving a flag at the start! Puh-lee-ase! No
starting lights and no TV presenter speaking while you are driving. You
call this ***????!!!!

Sorry for my configuration error, and for the uninformative *prenom nom*. I
should have made a test before sending a reply, quite a mistake for my first
post here in this NG. :-(

PS: I love GPL, but I think GPL hates me...

Not testing required here... it's considered too snobby.

No background music either, as PC Format pointed out with their usual
incisiveness. And the way that, when you try to ram the enemy boss (who goes
under the cunning alias "Surtees") off the road, you end up breaking your car!
I mean, what kind of game is this? You'll be telling me it doesn't have
checkpoints next...
