Website says release 8 days.  Doesn't talk about PC version much.  Anybody
with any insite on situation.  Is there to be a demo to see how it plays?
Best way to get in US when released, looks like euoropean release.  Thank
you.

If they keep those narrow roads I saw in a video then RBR should be a
keeper.  Perhaps us Yanks will have to form a buying club to import some of
those puppies.

The following article provides a detailed overview of the physics modelling
used with Richard Burns Rally.

The PS2/Xbox versions are apparently being released this month.  The
last time I heard a PC release date, it was September (and FWIW the
producer of the game has said that while it's cross-platform, they're
primarily focused on the PC sim market).  I'm guessing a demo will be
out closer to the PC release date.

I'm cautiously optimistic.  The game looks good and sounds good (while
the lack of multiplayer sucks, it's not like you'd be racing
head-to-head anyway) but it's tough to get a real impression from a
pile of PR.  It apparently has a very sophisticated physics system and
is quite difficult (based on the PS2 reviews I've read, which seem to
view the difficulty as a negative), which is good, but doesn't really
say much about the accuracy or level of immersion.  I guess we'll see.

Is that web site saying 7th September or 9th of July? I can never remember,
however UK web sites are howing 9th July for PS2/Xbox and 3rd September for
PC. There's some very good previews and articles on BH Motorsports plus some
good videos around at www.richardsburnsrally.com. I believe a PC demo will
be forthcoming but no word yet on when.

Andi.

Anyone has read this? sounds pretty good, but lets wait for the PC version
we all know what can happen
A friend has been playing with the game and he's telling me it is almost
undrivable, and sounds very anxious to have the pc version to drive it with
a wheel....

Watch that.  From what I've seen I'm not sure if the game is up to
N2003 type standards, but it seems like it has to blow every other
rally game out of the water.

One more video worth watching:

And to think how overly focused GPLpeople are on diff tuning.

ALL!

Do NOT click on that SpyWare Warning Box that comes up!!!

I've had to remove SpyWare from hundreds of computers over the last few
months, and several of them were infected by clicking on this box!

Close it from the TASK BAR.  Do NOT CLICK ON THE BOX!!!

My only concern will be the usual lack of long/realistic length stages.

A legitimate concern.  I think the average stage length is a hair
under 10km.  Which is 2-3 times longer than most other rally games,
but not up to Mobil 1 standards.  From what I've seen I think the
longest stages are around 15km and the shortest are around 5-6.

I don't think that's something to hope for, ever... Just look how long
it takes and what effort have to go into to make good accurate race
tracks. And those are only 3-7 km... Rally Championship had them, but
I'd rather have good quality over quantity. The RC stages were long,
but it the details was defintely lacking IMO. Most stages seemed
pieced together by 10mx10m painted concrete slabs, which meant there
was almost no roadside ditches anywhere which made a gully-effect of
the roads. Almost like a lugeride sometimes, up that side, then up the
other...
