N4 Won't load after installing the patch!!

Typical Sierra.

I have had to uninstall and reinstall Nascar 4.0 4 times tonight w/
the patch and it still won't load!!  4.0 runs.

I installed it in the default directory and applied the patch, and N4
is searching for the EXE!!  I suggest the folder where it is installed
and that doesn't help.

Something must not be right, you are about the first person who's had this
trouble getting the
patch installed.  Make sure all elements are gone when you un-install it.
No stray folders anywhere
from previous efforts...good luck.

you will have to rename the exe after the patch back to NASCAR Racing4.exe.
It will change it to something like Nasca~1.exe.

Morris is on it...here also is an email from another poster about the same
procedure.
hope it helps

Howdy,

I had the same problem when I tried to launch from the desktop icon, check
the N4 folder and you may notice that the patch seemed to suffer under the
maximum seven letter file name constraints and renamed the "NASCAR Racing
4.exe" to NASCAR~.EXE.  I Renamed the .EXE file to "NASCAR Racing 4.exe" and
it worked fine.

I hope this helps.

Regards,
Mct

PS-I don't post to the newsgroup so if this fixes your problem please let
others know.

N4 Won't load after installing the patch!!

I had the same problem. I was inserting a copy of my orifginal N4 cd.
When I put in the original everything worked fine. Kinda strange. You can
install the game from the copy and run the no-cd fix but this patch won't
work with the patch. Can't wait for someone to write a no cd fix for this
patch.

N4 Won't load after installing the patch!!

Thanks!  I will give it a try.  Why do companies and people put spaces
in file names?  Not a good idea, most likely.
