Talladega straight speeds?

No arguments here...Just wanting to know, on the MUCH IMPROVED Nascar 2
Talladega track, what are the highest speeds that anyone has achieved on the
track?  I don't mean average, I mean top speed down the straight.  I was
personally amazed when I saw 207, without the aid of a draft (it was in
practice!) That was WITH the restrictor plate.  I have tried it a bit without,
but it seems as though going into the corners at 230 mph is not condusive to
making it around them!

   Thanks!

I don't know what you mean by much improved tally track but I can and
regually do get up about 203 - 205 in a striaghtaway at tally.  I can
get 210 with some drafting help.  Suffice it to say I can't keep those
speeds for long cause I have to break to turn.  But man it's kewl right
until you have to break! 8)

PS You should see the crash if I don't break and break HARD!!!
It's quite spetacular, espcially when you take other cars out 8)
   Nascar destrustion derby 2!

Brake to turn ??  You should not have to use the brake at all into the
turns at Talladega ...  you may lift just slightly if you are driving under
someone into the corner - but not too much.

I get up to about 205 too and I have to brake or else I'm in the wall!
And the restrictor plate is still on

No with the plate on I've hit 211 drafting with some cars.  I find that
using a Ford chassis I can draft really fast with the Chevy's and using a
Chevy I can draft better with the Fords.  Seems like this was purposly
built into the game.

You must be entering the corner too high. At 204 to 205 i never lift off
unless 2 gubbers are blocking the track or feel like going by way up high
:)
Do you have a wheel ?

Your line must be off then...I get up there and don't let off.

Are you using a joystick instead of a wheel?

You shouldnt have to brake, period at Talley. If you hitting the wall
when going into the turns at Talley your either not turning early enough
or you half one hell of a terrible setup. Try entering the turns much
tighter than you have been and hold your line at the bottom of the
track. Careful when meet the apex. It'll grab you and try to pull you on
the apron, release pressure on Joy or Wheel and then tuck a little when
exiting the turn and "smoothly" come up tho the retaining wall.

I have popped a lap time of 197 with a draft.(RS are on)
I dont know how that compares with other guy's times but its
the best lap I've been able to produce.

Turn the temperature down to 40 and you can do consistent laps in the 196's
and up to low 199's if everything goes your way in traffic and strength is
set to 115% with the restrictor plate on. 60 LB pressure all the way
around. 100% shocks all around. Shift weight a little to the right and
forward. Left camber to just positive. Dive to aprons and stay there on
turns. Nothing to it. If you can't steer it's the frame per second rate. I
suggest 13 min and 18 max with all graphics set to automatic. See ya on
where-to-race on kali and maybe we can rub a little paint!

Then you need to find a new line or setup cause that shouldn't happen

I reached 196.2 in testing if that helps you with your benchmarks.
Restrictor plate on.
Fastest was 198.3 in a heavy draft in between Jarret and Gordon reached 212
at the end of the back straight

Low 199's?! Hmmm, would you mind sending me a cut-replay of your 199 lap
racing with the AI car strength set to 115%?
