talladega speed

I am running nascar at talladega and I can't get my speed up.  I am
consistently running lap speeds in the 191-192 mph range.  When I had the
demo of the game, I ran a 207 mph lap.  I've adjusted tire pressure,
spoilers, and whatever.  I get get up to about 195 on the straights, but
when I go thru the corners speed drops off to about 180-185.  I'd
appreciate any help or setups you may have.

Thanks,

Jon Bjerke

I'm assuming you are currently running version 1.2.  The track was
changed from version 1.1 to version 1.2, so that's why you're not
as fast as with the demo.  With the ACE12 set up that comes with
version 1.2, you should be able to hit 193-194 laps in a race, so
you're not far off.  Don't expect to go as fast with version 1.2
as with a previous version (or the demo).  At 'Dega, the driving
line is what will get you the most speed.  Try starting into the
corners about halfway up the track, then slide down the banking to
keep your speed up, drifting below the white line as you exit the
corners.  Try to turn the wheel as little as possible.  You should
be able to go through the tri-oval without lifting and with little
or no skidding.

Here is an interesting problem, I am running the CD version and my brother the disk
version and when we play by modem on Talladega he consistently gets around 200 mph
and I cant keep up.  Could this be due to him having an earlier version, I downloaded
a patch recently which changed the way the car went.

Rob, does your brother have the "restricter plate" off of his
car? This could be causing the different speeds.
