i'm currently busy trying to re-program by feet and arms to use the
new pedals and wheel before even trying the force-feedback stuff. lap
times at the moment are a full 3 seconds down, as the brake pedal is
not very smooth. i assure it'll wear-in over the next few weeks.
anyone got any advice/experience about this?

Furthermore, N4 doesn't recognize it period -- not even as extra

Do you have any setup files that you made to make this shifter work with
your system?

BTW, you have to get a utility to make the shifter work
right in GPL. Once you do, it's awesome! I've added
a clutch pedal to my RS pedals, and it really makes you
appreciate how much work shifting really is.

Once I saw the buttons lighting up, I went
to N4, selected H-pattern shifter, assigned
the gears, and headed out to the track. It
works fine.
For gpl, there is a patch that creates a new
GPL executable called gpl-rshift.exe. When
I ran this, the gear box was fully non-sequential.
It works fine.
I'm not sure what else to tell you right now.

i belive jason has the new GPL USB shifter....which i just recieved and it
does show up in the game controler applet.
im thinking he might not have a solid connection to the adapter which
comes with this unit.
im using win 98se,while jason is using win98(original)which may be a
problem?

Ideally, you should be using the GPL USB Shifter with Win98SE. Win98
works sometimes, but its support for USB devices is more "sketchy."
To confirm what Pat has said, the RS Shifter does not show up if you
have it connected to a Force RS. It simply recognizes as part of the
Force RS.
If, however, you own a USB Shifter, then it should show up as a
separate USB device.

"ALshift" version of ShiftIt.
