Act Labs USB (GPL?) Shifter - UK

Hi all,

I'm thinking of getting one of these thingies but can't seem to find a
source in the UK. Can anyone recommend one please? I would be using it with
a Momo FF wheel and BRD Speed 7 pedals (with clutch). Software would include
GPL, NR2002, F12002 and RL (one day perhaps ...).

A few questions for those who might already have one:

1. Does it come as standard with a simple up-down gate for sequential boxes
as in CART?

2. Does it require yet another power supply?

3. Do it make the Earth move for you ;)?

Regards

I don't think Act-labs has distribution points all over.  They are made in
Canada, I think about 300 or so miles from here, but I don't know if they
have an English Pipeline.

Thanks all for the help. I've ordered one now, along with 4 and 5 gear
plates. Only got two questions left now (honest):

1.  Anyone know how I can get hold of a sequential shifter plate (i.e. just
up and down). It seems to be there in some pictures of the RS shifter but
can find no mention of how to get one on ACT's site.

2.  I've spent all my wife's earnings on a BRD Race Frame (red & black) and
already had a Momo FF (red & black). The artist in me demands that this
shifter must have a red or red & black knob!! Anyone have any ideas where to
get hold of one?

Thanks again for all the help

the up and down plate comes with the shifter, it's a plastic one that wont
let you "engage" the gear but the contact is made, it CAN develop a tenday
to "jump" from the  shifter if you are kicking the lever really hard, there
must be way to make it hold tighter I'm sure.

The knob can be remove from the stick, so remove it, paint it and put it
back on....easy one...

Hi Neil

Since we're competing in the FFRL together I'll offer you the following
bribe. E-mail me me your address and in return for you letting me past in
every race next season I'll send you one of my two sequential shifter
plates. <g> Oh alright, I'll send you one anyway :)

Now that's an offer I can't refuse - particularly as you'll be passing me
anyway :)

I'll even agree to take Greger out whenever he laps me (i.e. every 5 laps)
in exchange for a Momo knob. Err .. that sounds like some form of disease
doesn't it ;)
