act-labs "GPL USB" vs "RS" shifter

I see on http://www.racesimcentral.net/ that the north american force
rs-bundle features the GPL USB Shifter, while the european bundle has
"RS Shifter"?

can anyone tell me the difference between the two?

The RS plugs into a special adapter thaty goes inot the wheel, the USB goes
into the USB port on your computer.
