  The x3dfx drivers allowed users to choose TnL when driving N4.  however,
the screen around the***pit corrupted and makes a poor option.  The
updated
1.07.01 drivers by Iceman improve the TnL graphics in the car...but the
other cars
and the walls still show missing and corrupt textures...the fps gain is
about 10 to 12 per
second with a few laps at Homestead,
which is fairly signifigant...yet.. with the continued graphic problems..the
gain doesn't
seem worth it yet...
  Any chance the Papyrus crew could examine the 1.07.01 drivers and see if
the
N4 TnL option could be tweeked to be more compatible?

I remember seeing a post from Eric stating that to have the TnL option for
Voodoo cards is a bug. Voodoo cards don't support HW TnL and the option
should be ignored. Use the vanilla d3d option. Or buy a GeForce :)

  Yes, I was aware of Papy's stance on TnL with 3dfx.   But the last two
driver sets
from X3dfx and now Iceman http://www.racesimcentral.net/
improved
the way the cards pass the TnL off to the cpu.  I get starting framerates of
about 60fps
at homestead...thats just getting in the car at the pits in practice so no
cars ahead, it does begin to drop and vary as I go around the track and
encounter cars.   But with the TnL option, the fps rocketed up to 72fps then
also lowered some as cars increased.  The first two laps with tnl were very
promising...all the graphic glitches in the***pit were gone, the wall had
what appeared to be sliding skidmarks which was another graphic glitch but
one I could have lived with for the increased fps...but then the ai cars
came into view and now THEY had all sorts of missing pieces and flashing
graphics...So we are closer...but still
not there.
