Maybe someone should make a track or edit a track to make a stunt
GPL racer. The jumping and general physics is so realistic, it would be
good. You could have a grass race track, and various jumps. Do you
think the game has the G-Force Physics for a car to do a loop the loop?
This would be damned good...

hmmm, Monster trucks, Could use that area! lol

Wish Papyrus would think about creating many different racing sims
using the GPL physics model.  Like... Monster trucks, DIRT car racing,
go-carts, Indy cars, ect, ect,..  And sell them all at the same time
rather then one every other year.

Yeah, they would just have to tweak the model a little bit and change the 3d
model for the cars and they would be done.  I bet their 3d program is a
sinch to use and I bet making new cars would be so easy.

Or else they could licence the engine to other games developers. Imagine
NFS3, TOCA2, MGPRS2 etc all with the GPL physics engine. Papyrus probably
wouldn't be able to make all these classes but others could do the
graphics and gameplay aspects.
Cheers,
Paul

I just wish somebody could make a faithful recreation
(including FFB!) of Atari's old arcade game Hard Drivin' or its sequel
Race Drivin'.  Ignoring (if you can) the stunts, the physics of these
games took years to be matched on the PC, while still remaining
unmatched in the arcades.  I must have driven that green roadster
around the Autocross track hundreds of times...

Hi Martin,

Oh, the days of plugging dollar after dollar into that infernal
machine!  ...and standing in a line to do it!

A local mall arcade still has one of the machines that I used to play.
FF is non-functional, game only works with auto shift...  I visit it
once in a while, and remove my hat whilst a tear wells up in my eye.

Brett, you speak the truth! :-) I got to the point on old Race Drivin'
where I could literally lap the autocross course almost infinitely... I
could stay on the thing for an hour or hour and a half once. If you'd
lap fast enough, you'd actually GAIN time back on that ticker limiting
your time... one lap there would be 10 seconds left at the s/f line,
about 5 laps later there would be 12! :-)

That was THE best FF and physics at the time... well done.

PS -- Did you ever find the skidpad?

Or try jumping off the ramp round the back at Kyalami. Come to that, how
many of you have driven on the railway track at Spa? I've not managed to hit
any trains yet though;-)
