 I heard once in this newsgroup I believe about a new rendition card coming
out with verite 2200 instead of 1000. Is this true? And if so, when will
these cards be on the marke? Also, which name brand would be the most
compatible most rend programs? How much will they sell for about?

You are correct, I used DOS to mean VGA. I have always considered the
hi-res mode to be SVGA, which to me was not standard DOS mode but
a higher performance mode of video which was not native to DOS.

I used the following model:
VGA=DOS
SVGA=depends on implementation of video board support

There are a lot of other factors such as color depth, memory on the
video board, modes supported, etc.

Hercules is supposed to have a board out in the September time frame
which is based on the V2200.

The Hercules Thriller 3D will ship next month at $179  using the V2200
chipset which will come bundled with 3 titles
