GLP warez?

I've heard some things about this, but I'm not sure what is going on.  Is this
a commercial site or what?  Where is this site and should it be reported?  Does
anyone have an address and has it been reported yet or what?  I'm clueless...

First of all, what's this "yes, you really are"?  Instead of getting help with
my question,  I get this stupid remark.  Apparently someone is just showing
their antisocial behavior.  Any who, I didn't say I hate warez, nor did I say
it makes me mad, I was just trying to get filled in on what's going on with
it...

The bottom line is that warez are typically discussed elsewhere.  In the
mainstream newsgroups they are sincerely frowned upon and are normally
ignored, with the hopes that the people who use them will wander away
quietly.

If you do a search in something like the Newsgroup Liszt (do a search on
Yahoo--remember that Z in there in the word liszt) and you can search
for groups with the word warez in there.

The game is on several places, usually refered to as warez sites.  I'm not going to
post any here (it's illegal).  Usually there is no point in reporting warez sites,
since they dont last for more than a few days at any one address anyway.  I'm
pretty sure Sierra is aware of the problem, but I dont think they can really do
much about it...

Oh please. The guy was asking an innocent question, all he needs is a
simple answer:

Warez is a term for pirated, stolen, hacked (sometimes with an added
virus) software available on the net. If you're a good boy, or a wise
one, you avoid it.

Was that so ***y hard?

The original question:

If he's asking whether someone should be reported, I assumed he knew
exactly what warez was, and when someone ELSE slammed him I explained
why.

So, is that "SO ***Y HARD" to understand?

Oh, please...

I appreciated your help.  I just wasn't sure what exactly was going on with
GPL, that's all.  I didn't mean to make anyone mad.

AFAIK posting a URL or IP address to a public newsgroup was about as
illegal as overclocking your CPU (which as we all found out recently
is one seriously heinous crime).

OTOH it does put temptation in people's way, so perhaps better not...

Sound like what you'd really want to know is : what's the address
where I can pick it up?  A-ha!!!  Now you've done it!  And everyone
will say : "Aaaah, that bpatter guy...  I thought he was ok, but then
he asked for the URL to get some pirated software, what a shame!"...

Release the dogs!!!

Watch out, the WaReZ police is coming for you!

Just kidding (nothing better to do...  Sorry for the bandwidth!)!

Reporting those sites won't help much, as they move too fast for
anyone to follow.  But if you really want to do something, the DON'T
download pirated software.  I think that's the only thing we all can
do to slow down piracy.

Oh and BTW, piracy is not right, but I despise software companies that
don't have the decency to get a demo of their product done so we can
try before we buy.  Not all the stores in all countries do refund
games after they're opened.

That's probably part of the idea why no demo - if no refund and the
game is terrible then those stores may account for the only sales. Try
before buying or read a reliable review - if you don't you may buy the
"Prost Grand Prix" or "Johnny Herbert" games. Yeuch....

Cheers!

Wasn't there a thread about famous race car drivers promoting sims...?
This is the cool promo sentence for Herbert's racing game:

"This is the most realistic racing sim I ever played!" - J.Herbert

Maybe it was the only one he played, if not, it's just a freaking lie...
