ICR2: drivers2.txt; how do you sync drivers names with cars?

by Clark Arch » Mon, 22 Apr 1996 04:00:00

I downloaded the new drivers2.txt file with the adjusted driver
strengths.  Now how do I install it?  Do I just rearrange the names to
match the order in my current drivers2.txt file or is that even
important?

Thanks,
Clark

You do need to arrange the order to match the order of the cars in the
.dat file.  Which should correspond to the order of your drivers2.txt
file.  It is probably easier to rearrange the txt file than swapping the
cars around in via paintkit.  Yes it is very important that the order of
the cars and the drivers2.txt file match.

Thanks, I arranged the drivers in order my swapping them around the text file.
Now, that is a great improvement in driver skills; now Hiro doesn't and Fangio
don't run the hot laps during warmup!

The question I have now is, how can I determine who will be on the
field  if I am running against a small number of competitors? I have a
feeling it relates to the sequential order of the Drivers2.txt file,
starting from the top, but I don't know...

And ideas?

> And ideas?the order is determined in the carset. your car is first and then so on.

So put cars in the order you want in the paintkit then edit drivers2.txt
