I'm a newbie but when the passenger yells out the turns and he gives
numbers, are those numbers how fast you should go through the turn in
km/h?  Or is that the degree of the turn or something?

Isn't it also not the very next corner, but 1 past that?  In other words,
the co-driver tells you whats up ahead so that you can concentrate on the
current corner and know somewhat how to setup for the next turn?
It's very confusing at first, but once you get with the flow of it, it's
very natural.  There is a patch at blackhole motorsports that uses a
simpler system that many users have found to be a good replacement.

well, it all goes in order.  so if the co-driver calls a 'medium left,
70' then it's a medium left, with 70 metres to the corner after the
medium left.

And ain't it great when he says something like 'medium left, 500'.
Ahh, full throttle goodness :)
