Nvidia Ti 4400 cooling ideas? (for N2002)

by R Keatin » Fri, 31 May 2002 07:35:34

Well now that it's getting hot, N2002 is locking up.  It appears to be heat
related and my bet is the video card (it is not over clocked).  Any
suggestions for extra cooling?  I am going to add a fan to blow across the
card, but I am not clear on what is the best approach.  I believe the built
in fan is pushing air into the heat sink, so I don't want to create a vacuum
in front of the fan and make things worse.

MB temperature around the time of lockups is about 32/89 degrees.  I don't
have any other temperature monitors except the one on the motherboard so I
have nothing else to go on.

Thanks,
Russell

The cheapest easist method...although the least cosmetic, is to pull the
sides off the case and place a desk fan next to open sides....let it blow
through and you'll get FAR FAR FAR more air movement then the tiny case fans
can move.
