Well, there I was doing a few practice laps at Melbourne, forecast was 0%
chance of rain for the entire time.  About 20 laps in, what happens?
Torrential downpour!!  Lasted about 30 minutes, then nice clear blue skies
again..  heheh..  whoever wrote the weather model really knows Melbourne..

Torrential downpour in Melbourne? It certainly happens, but far more
often you're likely to get longer-lasting, lower-intensity rain, the sort of
rain you get along the Pacific Northwest coast (for our American readers).
Torrential downpours are far more likely in Sydney and Brisbane. Nitpicking
as usual. ;)

Wow!

I read that the weather reports weren't neccessarily 100% accurate, and I
hope it's not seen as a bug. Weather can be like that in Sydney too, but
not as bad as it can be in Melbourne!!

Hurry up Friday morning!

Cheers,
Rod.

Ive played viper,toca,nfs,f12000,mgpr,wgp,N3 through bellstar league,
and I race karts as a hobby and IMHO I think GP3 is awsome. Once i set
the graphics for my system and set the sensitivity of my wheel and
pedals, I couldnt believe it.Ive never driven an f1 car but based on
some of the characteristics of a shifter kart the feel of the tires on
the track and the tire chirp when braking and shifting I think this game
really transmits a feel for the car that no other sim ive tried has.
and btw...NO you cannot hear other cars while racing. Between the sound
of your own engine and a good helmet there is no way to hear the other
car....You feel it. Onboard cameras dont have helmets so an onboard lap
proves nothing.
Just my Opinion

Sorry, don't mean to be a party pooper, although I've never driven an F1
car, someone that has writes on a popular website (alphaf1.com) that the
CROWD can be heard at Hockenheim.  Now, I've been to many sporting events at
the MCG here in Melbourne with 90,000+ fans, and I don't think they are
louder than an F1 car whizzing by me.

Quote from Mr M. Schumacher on AlphaF1.com:
"The atmosphere at Hockenheim is really something special. With the stands
around the outside of the stadium you can see everyone cheering for you and
sometimes even hear it!"

Sorry, but I still think you should be able to hear the other cars
approaching, and in my case, passing, in the game !!!

Well let's remember that a light drizzle at 180mph looks exactly like
torrential rane.

Ok, ok, time to stop analysing this!
They are already the most advanced weather features in a sim. What ever you
do don't putt it down because someone had a shower in Melbourne!!?!?!

Hmm, good point, I forgot about that. When those cold fronts rush by
they can do some deadly damage! We really do need to stop those butterflies
beating their wings in the Amazon. ;)

Hey, I remember the days of Botham and Gower when you guys were very
competitive (including the famous match in Melbourne which saw Doug Walters
and Jeff Thompson in a brave last-wicket stand almost get the 70-odd runs
required to win the match).

So do I - just. But Botham kept annoying the selectors ("we can't have
that oik in the team, just because he wins matches"), and Gower kept
getting dropped.

Still, at least we bowled out the Windies for 54, even if that isn't
the achievement it once would have been...
