GP3/N3...Let's Be Realistic!!

GP3 -
Let's  wait until the final product or at least a demo is released to
evaluate this product. Anticipation for the follow-up to GP2 has been
ongoing
for over two years and I think there has been somewhat of a myth surrounding
it
which is verified by the negative observations in the NG that were expecting
a miracle from Mr. Crammond.
IMO- An early Alpha build scratched together for ECTS.

Nascar 3-
This one puzzles me. It seems most of the people in the NG that criticize N3
for not using the "GPL engine" are familiar with GPL and It's burden with
processor usage which in turn limits  multiplayer capabilities. N3, with the
GPL engine would
triple those burdens making N3 impossible to play online and marginal
against the AI. It was tested and deemed unstable. Technology is pulling the
reigns on this one not Papyrus.

Whats the processor usage got to do with multiplayer issues? I can run with
19 cars on GPL no problem. Now finding a host to support that many cars is
not an easy task, but very doable. The internet is the deciding factor for
multiplayer here, not CPU speeds.

CPU has everything in the world to do with it.  If the HOST CPU can't
handle the physics of 43 cars (and today's CPU's CAN'T handle this load
as well as graphics and communications needs), it's got everything in the
world to do with it.

Think in three dimensions, not just two.

From what others have posted the host doesn't compute all the physics for
every car on the track. I don't know who is right or wrong since I don't
have the software to prove it.

The host cpu doesn't handle physics, the clients each do their own.  In the
case of a dedicated server it doesn't do graphics either.  All that's left is
communications and timing.  With a good connection, almost any machine can
host.
