MSFF Wheel under XP - return to centre tension problem...

by idav » Thu, 26 Sep 2002 05:48:53

Finally got my MSFF USB wheel recognised by xp without having to unplug and
plug in - (in the end, had to disable motherboard USB option and buy a PCI
USB card for it to work) - but came up against another problem which I hope
this group can help me with.

Using 4.0 version of the software that came with the wheel, I can set
schemes ok...but whenever I start a game, say GPL, GP4 ect, and dont want FF
enabled (don't like it, so always disable it through game options) but
simply want the "return to centre" tension of the wheel set to medium, it
always defaults no matter what schemes I try before starting the game to
high tension making the wheel hard to turn. The only other option I can use
is to disable all FF by pressing the force button on the centre of the wheel
and driving without any return to centre tension at all.

Is there a cure for this ?

Is it possible to set the tension to medium ?

Is there a way to edit say an "ini" file or ammend an option in the registry
?

Hope someone can help.

Ian.

" Is there a way to edit say an "ini" file or ammend an option in the
registry"

not in the registry but often in the ini files of the game program itself
