Non-3dfx cards for GPL?

I know a 3dfx card is the way to go for GPL but, if you were choosing
between ATI Rage 128 Pro or NVIDIA TNT 2.  Which would you go with? Price is
only $30 difference. So that is not a consideration.

Depends... If you want to run GPL the TNT2 will be better, though it can't
tip the Voodoo3 in GPL but it will be faster as the ATI card... And more
people have the TNT2 so you might get more help when you try to get GPL
running with the card, you will need to do quite some tweaking....

  regardless of which of those two you choose, you are buying a
technology that is already 3 generations old.  You might want to
consider the newer Geforce models...especially since Papyrus seems
to be headed towards using hardware T&L which the Geforces do.
  But for GPL the TNT is at best a 2nd choice behind the 3dfx products
