OK, here is my brief experience with AMD-K6-200MHz (running still at
2,5*83MHz) in Indyfast. Track: new Laguna Seca, all graphics options
on, frames set to 30fps, 32 drawn ahead and 32 drawn behind, 6 cars
heard, anti-aliasing on, full textures in mirrors, full field in a
race, etc (to make it short everything on). In normal racing I get 28
to 30 frames with very brief dips to 24-25fps. When I create an
almighty dust and smoke 'cover' for my car the framerate indicator
drops to 18-20fps but after the air is 'clean' again the frames climb
to the 30fps bracket.
I haven't driven Indycar2 that much but after this latest test I will
spend more time with it. The driving experience was way above the
Nascar engines in my opinion.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a change of CPU to you David. You'll
be impressed to say the least.
Greetings,
Pekka Heino
