Rendition Cards

Ok...  Ive read dozens of posts here about what cards to get, 3Dfx vs.
Rendition.

I hear people talking about frame rate problems with systems similar to
mine and I dont understand.

I have a gateway P166 with MMX and 32 megs of ram (soon to be 64) an ATI
3D video card.. nothing special here.  I run N2 with all graphics on,
high res, and a full field with full field draw ahead.  I experience
VERY little delays..  I dont have exact framerate... but I set the
minimum on 25 or 26.  Does MMX help in a DOS environment???

I want to purchase a new video card... but im totally confused on what
to purchase.  Is it certain they are going to make a patch for 3Dfx or
should I get the new StealthII S220 rendition since N2 is the primary
game I run on my computer???   Does anyone know if N3 will support
anything other than rendition (doubtful since Sierra makes Rendition
hardware) ??

All opinions would be appreciated.

Also... if anyone from Papy is listening...  how about double line
restarts so lapped cars have at least a chance to make up a lap ???
How about an occasional blown tire ???  Just some suggestions =)
