>>        Wonder of wonders on my 2nd run with the Ferrari I tied Evan,
>>        and a few dry runs with the Diablo produced a time of 8:26.3.
>>        Lephturn has mentioned an entry speed of 185 going into the
>>        first jump, which just amazes me (never over 170 here) so I
>>        think times of 8:20 or better are achieveable.

Yep, If you take the fenced area just right, you should be able to
launch at 183-185.  It takes a lap or two to build up enough speed.
Once you are rolling, you should be pulling 190-200 mph in the wooden
section of the track.  You will have to use the whole track, and run
right to the wall at corner apex.  Your line must be perfect through
the last six corners in order to maintain your speed.  If you manage
to do this without squealing your tires, you will be flying when you
hit the first jump.  You have to back off a bit and enter the right
hander at the end at about 178-180.  You will have to let off in the
middle of the next left down to 160-165.    Exiting that corner you
should be able to get the car up to 170 or above for the quick
right-left S coming up.  You must hold 170 through here and stay right
up to the wall on the following off camber right.  If you can exit the
right at 170 or greater, you should be able to build up over 180
through the long sweeping left before the jump.

Good show Nig....  I mean Martin.

You are gettin close to the best time on Lost Vegas.
Time to beat 8:12.0  :) Replay available.  Top speed 227.1 mph.  best
lap is under one minute, but I forget the exact number.  I set all
three records on the same run.  E-mail me if you want me to send it
zipped up.

Evan and I are now working on Rusty Springs.

My best so far is 4:58.3 Total Time, Best Lap 35.8 (Both with 512 TR)
and top speed 175.4 mph with the Diablo VT.  Evan may have bested this
time already so it may not be the fastest.  :)

Good run with the Warrior!

We started on Vegas and are now working on Rusty Springs.  Autumn
Valley will be next.  We are not using the Bonus car because it is
just to realistic.  Also, I would like people without the tournaments
won to be able to compete and compare times.  Maybe when we finnish a
round of all the tracks with the regular cars, we will do the same
with the bonus car.

For now, anyone interested in some friendly competition should start
working on Rusty Springs, and soon Autumn Valley.

So far my best on Rusty Springs is as follows:

This is in Time Trial mode with the Diablo VT.

Total Time = 4:57.0
Best Lap = 35.4 seconds
Top Speed = 177.0

Evan is very close to this, and may have a faster run (again :>) than
this by now.    I encourage everyone to give it a shot.  Next week
sometime we will start working on Autumn Springs.

Wow! Do you guys have steering wheel setups or good joysticks? If you
do, then I don't feel as bad. My top speed on Rusty Springs has been a
"suicide" 164.5 (I was trying for a top speed record so I didn't
even try to make the turn right after the straight section) using
the keyboard.

Yeah, even a cheap joystick will help a *lot*....highly
recommended.

"Why on earth"?...because we like to!  Sorry if that isn't
enough for you.

"or you can't drive tracks..."?  No need to be condescending.
In any event, I'd bet that you will find the times posted at
Rusty Springs and Vertigo to be quite a challenge.

A few of us have semi-organized ourselves to work on the tracks one at
a time.  That way, we are all practicing the same ones at the same
time.  We started with the simpler tracks because we want everyone to
be able to participate.  New players can follow along, and we will
eventually do the whole tourny.

Right now we are working on Autumn Springs.   Give it a shot!

Hey sportsfans.

The mark to beat for Autumn Valley is as follows.

Total Time = 7:46.8
Best Lap = 1:16.2

Both done on the same run, with the 512 TR, in Time Trial mode.

Replay available.

Well, on to City now.

The first question I would ask is, are you using a driving wheel?
I'm using the T1, and imagine it would be difficult without a wheel.
The second thing I would say, is something somebody else has already
said, can't remember who: race consistently.  This is definitely as
important (or moreso) than going blazingly fast.

Get a good joystick, it will make all the difference in the world,
especially if you are using a gamepad or keyboard now.

I got a Gravis Analog Pro and find it to be a good joystick,
especially considering the price (I got mine for u nder $30)

I returned the game when I realized that the game only supports one (1)
joystick. The sticker on the box stated: Thrustmaster Steering Wheel!!
So, they think, you are going to steer with the weel and accelerate and
break with the buttons on the dashboard???? No way!

You could call it missleading adverti***t.

I could be wrong, but what I have heard from the net is that there is
an adapter that comes with the Thrustmaster Steering Wheel (a white
one I believe) that allows you to do this.  I guess the earlier
versions of this wheel didn't have the adapter included, but you
can get one by calling the company.

You should give this game another try, I think that it is increadibly
fun!  (and I don't even have a Thrustmaster Steering Wheel...)

Actually, it's the newest versions of the T1-T2 line that don't include
the adapter. They will ship you one for free though. Just got mine and love it.
