Someone who responded to this article returned the game because it only
supports 1 joystick and was complaining of false advertising in that the
game cant use the Thrustmaster wheel setup. I had problems at first so I
called Thrustmaster who sent me free of charge an adapter to put in line
between game card and wheel cables. Everything works great now.(and I
don't need to take the adapter off to play NASCAR or INDYCAR)Just shows
that sometimes you have to follow through on a problem rather than throw
in the towel right away.

Well, practice practice practice.

The #1 problem I see is people who don't use a joystick.  If you are
using a gamepad or the keys, forget it.  You need a joystick or a
wheel to drive well in this game.  The Gravis Analog Pro and the
Microsoft Sidewinder are the two sticks I have tried on this game.  I
set records with both, but I prefer the Sidewinder.  The best device
is likely a wheel/pedal combo.  And YES, you can use the pedals with
the T1, you need to use the white adapter that comes with it.

The #2 problem is game speed.  It is very difficult to control if
things are moving slowly.  Try turning off a few details, like the
sky, and then try it.  Several people I have talked to said this made
things much easier.

Other than that, just check out some replays of tracks you are having
trouble with.  You can pick up alot of pointers this way.  If you want
some replays e-mail me.

replay available.

Also, bests for City are as follows:

Can anybody out there beat the 3:13 Seg. 3 time that comes with the
game on this track?  This one is ***y imposible.

No you couldn't.  Just use the white adapter that comes with the T1.
This will allow you to use the pedals.  If you have a really old T1,
thrustmaster will mail you one.  You should have asked EA for some
help before you chucked the game, your missing out on an awsome
driving game.

Me stupid! Now I remember stuffing this adapter in the lowest drawer
of my desk...

Thanks for the hint!

I used my white adapter and it still doesn't work.  Doesn't work for Screamer
either.  The only game that I like that works well with the T1 is NASCAR
(without the adapter, of course).

Does anybody know what the problem could be?  I've tried somebody else's
adapter, to no avail.  My first suspicion is that the potentiometers on the
pedals need to be adjusted, but I have no clue how to do it.

Anybody?

Thanks in advance.

HUH????

I've been using Wheel and pedals on NFS for a month now.  No problem!

I only have one game port out of my Soundblaster card.  You need the white
adapter that Thrustmaster will send you free if it wasn't in the box.

dont use the game port that on the i/o card, if u have sb card (i think u
do), use the game port that on the sb card, becoz some i/o card game port
did not suport two joysticks, but the game port on sb card it does.

i hope it can help u solve the problem:)

I think the game card does support two joysticks and is dual port because when
I calibrate joysticks in NASCAR the sterring wheel and pedals each register as
the same axis on different joysticks (I think X-axis on 1 and 2, steering and
pedals, respectively)

I'll try a friend's dual port adapter and see what happens though...

Any other suggestions?

Thanks a lot,
