NFS: How am I doing... 8:42 Lost Vegas

by Isaac Wo » Wed, 24 Jan 1996 04:00:00

Just want to post the fastest time I have done last night playing Need
For Speed...

Lost Vegas
512TR, ABS off, keyboard, manual shift, 8 laps time trial
time: 8:42.3

I will see whether I can beat it using the Diablo tonight.

7:42.5 is the current world record.  A replay is available.  I would
think though, that you would be able to do much better with a
joystick.

But, was it done with the Warrior? If so, no wonder.

I don't think so.  NFS record-setting was happening at a fevered
pitch the first few weeks after the game came out.  Personally, I only
got my record down to 8:1x.xx (can't remember exactly, but it was a
record for a while!) when news came of 8:00 being broken.
I'd think that the current record was set on a Diablo.  Driving
the course properly on the Warrior would result in a much, much lower time.
So yes, the record is probably true and was probably done in a
"real" car.
