Yeah sure I think you are right. Are you making this up as you go?

BTW, what exactly is a 'logitec' anyway? The Logitech Wingman
Formula Force works with all Windows games as far as I know.

I would be very interested to know where you got that information.

No, that's not true at all. I use the LWFF with GPL, F1RS, MGPRS2, Colin
McRae, SCGT, Viper Racing and (gulp) NFSIII and the force feedback works
very well in all of them.

Carmageddon 2 doesn't work with the LWFF but does work with the
microsoft plastic thingy.

I've never had a problem with it (NFS HS, GPL, Viper, Monser Truck
Madness, etc., etc.).

What you may be thinking of  the API compatibility.  There are 3
force-feedback formats.

I-force- used only for the CH fx Joystick I think.  Controllers using this
API are compatible with all FF games.  However, the games written
specifically for I-force are not compatible with DirectInput or I-Force 2
controllers.

I-force 2- The major API right now.  Most FF controllers use this API.
Logitech, AVB, ACT, Thrustmaster all use it.  It is compatible with games
written for both I-force 2 and DirectInput.

DirectInput- The Microsoft FF API.  Used for Interact, Microsoft and Saitek
controllers.  Games written for this API are compatible with both
DirectInput and I-Force 2 controllers.

I force 2 and DirectInput specific controllers and games have differing
feels to them.  Running a DirectInput controller on a DirectInput game
generally runs much better.  The same can be said of I-force 2 controllers
and games.  The best examples of this are running a I-force 2 controller
with NFS3 or 4.  The effects are much better than when using a DirectInput
device.
