Load it up for the first time here in Australia and there he is - the
one, the only, Sir Jack Brabham :)))) What a great way to get things
started. And better still, things don't go down hill, so to speak, one
bit after this either. What a driving model and what a great feel the
***pit gives! What a blast it is to have NO brakes, NO grip, tons of
oversteer, tons of understeer, a heavy car and globs of power that
come on in a very peaky way. For those who have been playing ICR2, GP2,
etc, etc, get ready to learn how to drive. I have pretty much
mastered ICR2 and upon embarking on this GPL journey feel as though I
have just started sim racing today :) Rest asssured you will
have massive new found respect for the drivers of this era and for
Papyrus' great job of recreating this era.
BRILLIANT!
1 small wish for the finished version though - a way to go into reverse
or 1st with one push of a button/key from any gear. Mind you, I
still think the GPL demo is better than CPR and F1RS put together! Now
this IS a car in my computer!
I expect Geoff Crammond is sitting in a corner somewhere, tearing up
bits of paper, mumbling insanities, and dribbling...
Then again he maybe having a blast like the rest of us, safe in the
knowledge that this side of the pond, at least in England, the PC
Media will shun the game for doing exactly what it sets out to do,
like F1rs. I hope and wait to be surprised.....
