Hi!
My take on the demo is "hey, what a fine job!" I am generally critical
of the political actions of the Papyrus team but who cares. Besides, it
isn't Ed or Adam at my door(er...screen) asking me to come out and play
with them. On a personal level, to hell with 'em. On the professional
software development side, you guys are my heros! The talent shows up
in your work. I hope you are paid very well for the contributions that
have been made.
About playing the sim, the graphics are nice and all but the
***pit has an erie, Quake-like gloom feel to it. Is this supposed to
mock up the site of the dash through tinted goggles? Would like to see
the orange indicators back. I don't feel the view port is big enough,
surely you all would rather a larger one, right? I bet in addition to
Sierra selling it's own Rendition board, it will begin marketing it's
own 21" monitors. No, really, I have a 17" and it still is a little
tight in there while racing. And the added gloom gives a feel as if I
have hitched a ride on a boxcar. Yes, as you have indicated, there is
still much work to be done. I agree with this entirely. But for now, I
am confident that the immersiveness of the final product will increase
and that is what I am after personally.
