about dx9 convinced me not to install it, but so many demos refuse to run
without it... Thanks for any ideas. My system: winXP, ATI Radeon 9700
video card, Audio Audigy sound card, Pentium 4.

Not had a single with DX9 problem with it myself.
Andrew.
The installation of DirectX8.0 whilst doing a defrag whilst doing a Spybot
search whilst playing mp3's on WMP springs to mind.
The Norton Utilities man who thought it best to run its routine once an hour
"..just in case.."
The woman who was burning a cd when her scheduled maintenance started and it
locked her pc solid, including no response whatsoever to the on off
button. She was in too much of a flap to think of disconnecting from the
wall.
And this weeks,in fact last nights is the lady who had a cd drive fitted
when i made up the machine, two days later she rings saying her dvd's dont
work in it.At her stern request we swap the cd drive for a dvd drive.
Last night she rings saying where can she buy the dvd equivalents of all her
cd's as she 'obviously' cant use them now.
Laugh...?....I cried. :)

My best one when doing tech support work was a financial analyst who
worked on a city trading floor. He phones me up to say that a report
he gets each morning sent to the printer by his desk wasn't there. I
resend the report to his printer. He phones up to say it still isn't
there. I go up to see him, look at the printer and see that it is
turned off. I switch it on, the report prints and I hand it to him.
What did you do he asked. I turned it on I said through gritted teeth.
Why was it turned off he asks. I don't know I reply. How do I know if
it is turned on he asks. Look at the lights I reply. Find out who
turned it off he tells me - he sits in an openplan dealing room with
about 200 people in it!
