How do you turn on Anti-Aliasing on one game but not another?

by Marc Collin » Mon, 24 Feb 2003 01:56:50

I have never used this because in the past I have just used a high
resolution on a good monitor, but would like to experiment.

Certain titles won't run with AA on.

Control Panel gives option to set once or let the application control the
level/setting.  How do you do that?  How can I have 4xAA in NR2002 and 2x in
GPL and none in something else?

Thanks,

Marc

If the game doesn't spcifically have settings for AA the only way you can control it is through the
dispaly properties control panel.  Certain tweaking utilities allow you to set up pprofiles for each
individual game.

I need to do the same thing.  I want to have AA turned on for N2003....but
in BF1942, the AA makes the text and chat unreadable.  Only way I have been
able to do it, is to manually go into the display controls and change it
before each game.

Sort of like the ridiculous lack of individual desktop-D3D-OpenGL gamma
settings in nVIDIA's reference drivers.

How do you turn on Anti-Aliasing on one game but not another?

by Marc Collin » Mon, 24 Feb 2003 03:22:08

I downloaded Rage 3d Tweak 3.8, but cannot for the life of me figure out how
to set up a profile for an individual game.  It looks like AA is an option
that can be set, but....??

I right-click Profiles and select New-->D3D Profile.

It creates a new category called User Profiles and lets me name my
profile...so far so good.

I then had to look up that you are supposed to right-click the little green
circle and set the options, but all I get is Rename, Comment and Delete.  If
I select Comment, it allows me to type something in the window below, which
contains the executable name in the other profiles that are included.
Assuming I type in the name of an executable, then what are you supposed to
do?  How the hell do you get to the options/settings for that profile???

Thanks for any help!!

Marc
