Took two hours to assemble, and another hour to re-arrange the computer
desk to accomodate it's larger size.

It's oh-so smooth, but I don't like the paddle shifters.

I'm a danger on the track right now, so I think I'm gonna stick to
offline for a week or so while I get used to it.

Let us know how you come to grips with the PCB brake pedal.

Thanks.

You don't like these paddle shifters or paddle shifters in general?

I have some alternative ideas on the the pedals.  If you would like pictures
let me know.  The paddle shifters you will get used to in no time.

I dont understand.Doesnt anyone here have the "Instant***pit pedal
anchor base".Anytime you harden up a brake pedal beyond the normal
squash ball you need to anchor the seat for full effect.

Has anyone tried the "Instant***pit pedal anchor base
"????????

ECCI makes it.  Think of a sheet of metal that slides under your chair and
hooks to it and the other end is hooked to your pedals preventing em from
sliding.

I don't need it. The hardest part of this is getting used to the PBM
module.

I will, however, buy the stick shifter they're working on when it
becomes available.  These paddle shifters just don't do it for me.  I'm
currently finishing up an add-on sequential shifter using the shifter
off of one of my old discarded Thrustmaster Nascar Pro Analog wheels.

I used to feel the same way John.  Took me a long time to get used to the
paddles but now that I have I doubt Ill switch back given the opportunity.
I drove with one hand but now that Ive gotten used to both hands on the
wheel I feel I have much better car control.  This is totally subjective
though.

I don't think it is the getting used to it that is the issue. Shifters just
seem more immersive even if they do potentially hurt your lap times, but
then I'm old school... :)

The harder the brake is to push, the more feedback youll
get....BUT....youll have to anchor yourself and the pedals to feel
this extra feedback. That is why ECCI sells a device to lock your chair
and pedals so that you can push the brake without moving
backwards.:)The NIXIM converter works on this principle too.But the
NIXIM sells a completley solid chassis to sit in and I imagine has
much higher brake pedal resistance.

But you do need it.If you say that the hardest part is getting used to
the PBM its because your not securely and fully anchoring your seat
from the pedals.

###############################################################################6000
series "Instant***pit" pedal unit restraint for use with Trackstar
6000 pedal units. Prevents "walking" of Trackstar 6000 pedal unit or
driving chair forward/backward, and prevents any up/down movement of
pedal unit when PMB or high pedal pressures are used. Prevents
movement of office type chairs equipped with wheels. Also very useful
for LAN racing situations where the driving station may be located in
the middle of a large room with no nearby provision for securing the
pedal unit. One end of structure bolts securely to pedal unit, other
end is secured under legs/wheels of driving chair. Unit is adjustable
for pedal/chair distance. Breaks down quickly to allow easier
transport, yet is extremely rigid when assembled. Also allows
protective passage of speaker/headset wires from computer to driving
seat.

After seeing PCB and now PBM I figure I'd set it straight :)  Its PMB2
(pressure modulated brake version 2).

Nitpicky :)

that the hardest part is getting used to
