F1RS and PCI soundcard problem ...

by Lomceva » Fri, 15 May 1998 04:00:00

Hi,

I just installed Audiowave digitial sound PCI card which uses the Aureal
Vortex AU8820 chipset. Anyway, after downloaded the 3D sound patch from
Ubi, I fired up F1RS with great expectations. But, the engine sounds
were screwed. The revs were alternating between left and right speakers.
Anyone has a solution?

The sounds in instant replay seem improved since you can hear the car
going `across' the speakers.

TIA

The Direct3D sound patch was origionally for a specific 3D soundcard.
LIke the Maxisound Theatre 64. Not just any soundcard with 3D drivers.
Check the patch page for specifics...

>The direct 3d sound patch was suppose to be for many cards.   So far, from
>postings in forums and usenet, at least 2 of the cards listed (Diamond
Monster
>sound and Ensoniq AudioPCI) had problems with the sound patch.  This

includes

This is what I remembered too :-)
