Once, a long time ago, there lived a little . . .
No wait . . .
Once, a long time ago, I posted this question to the group, but the thread
was hijacked and never returned to my intial query, which was along the
lines of:
I've got a built-in sound "board" (C-Media 8330) on my Amptron 9900
motherboard, which seems to work very nicely. Would I be likely to gain
anything by going to a PCI card? That is, does the fact that my soundcard's
on the mo'board mean that it's hogging some CPU time?
I'm considering replacing it with PCi for unrelated reasons, but if I stand
to lose overall (GPL) performance, I will not do so.
Thanks,
David
