LFS: What is the LWFF Formula Force bug?

by myn.. » Thu, 29 Aug 2002 01:19:51

I have an old LWFF, and I was thinking about installing
patch P, but the "known problems" on www.liveforspeed.com
mentions the "Logitech Wingman Formula Force bug."

Should I just stay with what I have (patch L, I think -
whatever the first patch available was).

I assume I won't be able to get split axis and force
feedback at this time?

Or was this problem fixed in patch P?

Thanks

I believe the problem was that the bottom two buttons weren;t recognised by
LFS. I have no idea whether this is fixed in patch P. You could try asking
at the official LFS forum at:

The patch is just a replacement .exe

Back up the old one and you can revert easily if you decide that P isn't for
you.

Patch P works but you can either have split axis or FF - not both.  I can
still do mid 1:28s without split axis so it's not too bad...

I think with the LWFF you can have split axis and FF at the same time, but
the FF is messed up. (right?)

Try what I did. Go into Control panel \ Game Controllers \ Highlight the
Wingman wheel, click properties, click settings, uncheck the "Pedals
reported as" Combined axis box, click close.
In the Game go to controls, select separate Throttle / Brake axis.
Then Select Axis RZ for throttle and Z for Brake.
Swap pedals should be on.
LFS is heaps better with dual axis IMHO
Hope this helps

Getting split axis now, but also this weird FF.
Dunno what's better, but I'm not comfortable without missing either FF or sa :-(
