LFS: Anyone getting FF with original LWFF?

by Ryan Mitchle » Wed, 21 Aug 2002 22:10:04

Like the Subject says . . .

I didn't get any FF with my red original LWFF, although I have only run the
game once (finished the download WAY later than a sensible bedtime ;-)    )

Anyone else experiencing this? Any ideas?

Have Athlon XP-1800, 512MB DIMMs, Geforce2-GTS, Gigabyte GA-7zx something,
original SB Live!, Win2k, Detonator 21.83 drivers.

Thanks for any ideas!

Ryan

LFS worked fine "out of the box" with my modified LWFF wheel (based on the
red wheel, cable drive original). I just followed the instructions (disable
dual axis, only one controller hooked up). My pedals are different but based
on the same wiring plan as the original. Maybe try the latest drivers from
the wingman team site. Hope this helps Ryan. It is worth the effort.

Just tried the latest Wingman drivers with no luck. Hope that others are
experiencing the same problems (perverse, hey!!!) so that the developers can
get to work on fixing it.

Which OS are you using, Spark?

FF works on and offline. Do you have an option for adjusting feedbacck in
the control window?

I have the original red LWFF w/4.20 drivers and dual boot XP and 98, FF
works in 98 but not XP. Tried 4.11 driver with XP and still no go. Hopefully
they're aware of the problem.

Need to make sure you're in combined mode.  I wasn't seeing any accelerator
or brake while in dual axis.

I get FF in WinME but not in XP (dual boot)  Logitech have acknowledged that
the original LWFF has issues with Win2K and WinXP.  F12002 has similar
issues with FF.

I got FF in XP in all my games with the exception of  Live For Speed so I
don't think its a LWFF issue.

It only occurs in games with very advanced FF like F12002 and LFS.  (F12002
still works but causes a big frame rate hit)  Logitech claim that they can
'fake' certain hardware features in Win9X so the LWFF works OK.

They claim that they can't - it's either stick with 9X or buy a new wheel or
do without proper FF in some games...
