1907 - Daytona Beach Florida
Glenn H. Curtiss rode a V8 powered motorcycle
to a 136.30 mph record in the measured mile.
The Chicago Daily News headline reads:
"Fastest Mile On Earth, Bullets Are The Only Rivals Of Glenn Curtiss"
>Race in servers that have a 0 (that's zero) rating. And in awhile, if you do
>fairly well, (avoiding the wreaks) your rating will increase from 0 to 10.
Look for races with as many drivers as you can get. While the servers bearing
the "papyrus" name are often what we like to call "wreckfests" if you can avoid
hitting people and getting hit you can often get a good finish as a lot of
people just drop out from frustration. It can actually be good practice
getting through some of the messes. If you get into a race with 30 starters
and manage to run clean a top 5 or 10 finish is worth quite a few points. If
you get into a race with 5-6 starters a 1st or second place is worth very
little.
AND....it takes a minimum of 4 drivers to qualify for any rating points. Some
races are "unrated" and can be good online practice but they often don't
attract many players.

If you see an "X" in the RTG slot, that means the server is telling you that
you are not rated high enough to drive in that event.
Never have I seen such a collection of idiots who think they know
everything, and practice nothing.

Same thing, every race. Qualify bad. Someone wrecks up front at the
start/finish line, takes half the field out, I stop, then get run over.

Too many people watched Days of Thunder. You know, floor it, and you'll get
through the wreck.
It don't work. I ALWAYS get ass-ended if I slow for a wreck.
And it's always MY fault, of course :)
Maybe the kiddies can't reach the brake pedal yet, and just have a book
propped up on the Gas Pedal?
