N4 Online - No Race List

by BRH » Tue, 27 Feb 2001 07:28:36

I'd like to try N4 online, but can't get a race list to display, at
all.  I'm using a 56K dial-up modem, with Guard Dog as  firewall.  This
seems to work fine in VROC with GPL, but doesn't seem to work with N4.

I set my player for multiplayer, and connection type as TCP/IP, and
configure the sim to "detect connection in another way" (the bottom
choice in the "configure" window.  Nothing has worked so far.

Can someone help me out here?  Have I missed something on the
multiplayer configure screen, or is my firewall the problem?

Thanks!

N4 Online - No Race List

I just tried connecting with GuardDog disabled, and I still don't get a
race list.  I made sure that "multiplayer" is selected on my player
profile, but that doesn't seem to help either.

Any help would be appreciated.

Are you clicking on the "sierra.com" logo at the top of the multiplayer
window?  You have to be logged onto Sierra to see the races in the "arenas".

If not, you won't see any races listed.

No, I'm not.  Must have missed that in the manual!

Thanks!

you have to click on the Sierra icon near the top of the screen.
"play on Sierra.com" I think it says...

The servers were a MESS this weekend.  As best I can tell, no effort was
made to work on them either.
